What does the calculator result include?
The calculator separates amounts by payment currency, rather than combining dollars and pesos in one figure that could understate the cost. The result includes programme, accommodation and registration fees, available local fees, and any personal spending or pre-travel expenses you enter.
- Dollar amount: programme, accommodation and registration fees, plus any seasonal charge. Potential discounts are reviewed in the updated quotation, not applied automatically.
- Peso amount: local fees and the weekly spending you specify.
- Riyal amount: the pre-travel items you enter yourself.
Why is the calculator result not a final price?
The result is not an invoice or a promise of a fixed price. It may vary with your arrival date, room availability, changes to government fees, offers and the conditions for combining them, and any additional services you choose.
We do not convert currencies at an assumed rate because the peso exchange rate changes. Each currency is shown separately; your personalised quotation then confirms what is payable, when and to whom.
Worked example: four weeks at A&J Baguio
This example explains the calculation method; it is not an institute price list.
According to the available A&J Main Campus list, four weeks of General ESL cost USD 800, a twin room USD 750, and registration USD 100, for a total of USD 1,650 before local fees.
In the local fee schedule effective from 2 July 2025, the total ESL local fees for four weeks were PHP 22,000, including PHP 3,000 as a refundable deposit. A 2026 peak-season charge of USD 40 may be added for each week falling within the announced period, while any promotional discount is subject to eligibility and institute confirmation.
Limits of the estimate: Tuition and accommodation figures come from a 2024 list, local fees from a 2025 schedule, and seasonal charges and offers from 2026 documents. Confirm the current quotation before registering or paying.
What changes the cost of studying?
Differences between students’ budgets are not just down to the institute’s name. The main factors are programme, study duration, room type, arrival timing, government fees and local services.
Programme, duration and accommodation
Fees for intensive and guarantee programmes differ from general ESL depending on the institute and programme conditions, and single rooms cost more than shared rooms. A longer stay also increases local fees, visa costs, books and services, not just tuition and accommodation.
Arrival date and personal expenses
Some institutes may apply high-season fees or change offer conditions according to the start date. Flights, insurance, transport, activities and personal purchases vary by student, so they are entered separately rather than treated as institute fees.

Study cost calculator questions
Does the result include flights?
Flights are not added automatically because prices vary by departure country and date. You can enter them along with insurance and preparations in the pre-travel expenses field in Saudi riyals.
Why are amounts shown in dollars, pesos and riyals?
Institute and accommodation fees are often quoted in dollars, local fees are paid in pesos, and pre-travel expenses are entered in Saudi riyals. Keeping amounts separate makes exchange-rate changes visible.
Is the refundable deposit an actual expense?
You need to have this money available when paying, so it is included in the amount required. It is identified separately because it may be refunded after any outstanding amounts are deducted under the institute’s policy.
Can I use the calculator for an institute other than A&J?
Yes. Select manual entry, then enter the programme, accommodation, registration and local fee figures from your quotation. Institute prices are only included in documented mode after their supporting documents have been checked.
When will I get the final amount?
After confirming the institute, programme, duration, room type and start date, a dated quotation in your name can set out what is included and excluded, the currencies and payment dates.
